Transition to Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015

Partner with SAI Global for a seamless transition to the new ISO standards.

A Quality Management System is what ensures a business' products or services meet a certain level of quality; that is, they are reliable, safe, consistent, meet customer expectations, continuously improve and comply with the law.

The ISO 9001 Quality Management System - Requirements Standard has been updated to meet current market practices and was released in September 2015. The purpose of ISO 9001 is to provide organisations with a foundation upon which to build sound business practices and processes. These requirements help you bring discipline and consistency to your organisation's operating processes.

What are the changes?

ISO 9001:2015 significantly differs from the 2008 edition, with:

  • A stronger focus on risk management and customer satisfaction
  • More emphasis on leadership and commitment
  • Fewer prescriptive requirements
  • More requirements on communication and strategic alignment
  • Formal introduction of 'interested parties'

Of importance is the addition of the new “Annex SL” platform (replacing the ISO Guide 83). This platform brings together a common framework for a number of management system standards, ensuring consistency and making the standards easier to read and implement. More comprehensive information on the changes can be found in the documents linked below.
