World Accreditation Day - 9 June

June 9, 2017

The 2017 theme for World Accreditation Day is 'Delivering confidence in construction and the built environment'.

The 9th of June is World Accreditation Day, and this year's theme is 'delivering confidence in construction and the built environment'.

The day marks a global initiative established by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) aimed at raising awareness of the importance of accreditation, also known as certification in some regions.

The day is special for SAI Global, highlighting the significance and importance of accreditation. This process, at first glance, can seem like a time-consuming, administrative challenge; a burden between you and what you deliver.  However, the reality couldn't be more different.

Accreditation by an independent, professional certification body provides third-party assurance that your company is reliable, safe and can deliver quality construction projects that satisfy building codes of practice.  Being accredited according to nominated standards also helps building and construction companies comply with the various regulations that impact the industry.

From a reputational perspective, the value of accreditation is immeasurable.  It provides a customers with confidence in the quality, reliability and safety of the service a company provides. When customers trust a company, it helps secure the company's ongoing business sustainability.

Beyond mere compliance, accreditation advantages continue, ranging from attracting new customers, positive impacts on safety management, enhanced reputation and stakeholder trust and better internal efficiency.
