This month, with the Surveyor General and Spatial Services, we’ll commission a review of digital survey plans in NSW to help identify ways we can best support the surveying industry transition from paper to fully digital survey plans. All of these initiatives recognise NSW and industry’s desire for a modern digital land titles system with fit-for-purpose regulations in this fast changing environment. Kind Regards ![]() Conveyancing Rules exemptions form 2019We have published instructions on how to find the exemptions form on the NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS) website. ![]() Conveyancing Rules waiver updateWe have updated the Mainstream Dealings Exceptions Waiver to cover further transactions. ![]() New Smart admin sheetsNSW LRS has introduced new plan forms as part of the plan requisition reduction initiative. Please use the new forms and provide feedback to NSW LRS. ![]() IPART reviewIPART has released its draft report on pricing regulation for electronic conveyancing services in a few weeks, with a public hearing to be held on 3 September. ![]() Historical Land Records ViewerIt’s now much easier to access important historical documents about NSW via the HLRV. We know it’s important for historians and other customers to be able to print records. The new HLRV system allows printing of free records. More than 6 million digital records from 62 collections are now available. ![]() Change of Name IndexesNSW State Archives selects one transferred series each month, which they highlight as their series of the month. This month it’s the Change of Name Indexes, one of the original 12 record series from the Strategic Scanning project – a project under the LPI Concession Deed. ![]() Cyber crime alertLegal practices are being defrauded by being sent request for payments, as well as malicious files labelled as attachments for legal work. Read the cyber crime alert published by the Law Society. ![]() eConveyancing statisticsIn July 2019, 94% of all possible dealings in NSW were lodged electronically. We have added statistics on transmission applications, leases and transfers without monetary consideration to our statistics page. ![]() eConveyancing Intergovernmental AgreementDench McClean Carlson (DMC) has released its draft report on the eConveyancing Intergovernmental Agreement. DMC is seeking submissions by 6 September 2019. If you have any questions, contact Anne Larkins or Cameron Geddes. ![]() Interoperability industry working groupsDr Nicholls has released his final report as independent chair of industry working groups on interoperability. We would like to pass on a very big thank you to all the industry participants and regulators who have invested time, expertise and insight to working through the challenges. Please contact ORG if you would like more information. ![]() Transition to eConveyancing workshopsJoin a half day workshop (4 CPD units) jointly run by the ORG and the Law Society of NSW to learn about becoming a subscriber, the legal framework and subscriber compliance. Revenue NSW will also be providing an update.
