Operational Resilience: Connecting the Dots (London, UK): 9 May

Business Continuity teams have long been working in isolation to those who are responsible for managing cybersecurity. But as business operations rely on a robust digital infrastructure, a cyber incident will have devastating impact on the continuity of businesses. Furthermore, in this digital era many processes are outsourced to vendors and organisations are realising the importance to 'connect the dots' between Business Continuity Management, Cybersecurity Risk and Vendor Risk Management.


When does a cyber incident becomes a Business Continuity event? 
Is that the choice of the cybersecurity risk team or are there protocols and systems that can determine the risk and implement the correct recovery process? Are your vendors SLA’s reflected in the Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) defined by your BCM team? What happens if they don’t meet those SLA’s? There are many examples where businesses were severely impacted because a vendor failed to perform. 

Join this rich discussion and participate in the educational scenario-based workshop, as we delve into; why it is so critical, and how you can connect the dots between Business Continuity Management, Cyber Risk and Vendor Risk Management, for maximum operational resilience.

This is a thought leadership focused event therefore the day will start with a table top exercise, where you will analyse real life scenarios that could happen in any organization. You will work through a step by step analysis of what happened and ask yourself the all-important question “what would your company have done”? 

A panel of subject matter experts will continue the discussion and share some best practice examples and methodology. As the end of the workshop we encourage you to ask yourself, 'Is what we are doing today effective for our operational resilience or should we explore an integrated approach?' Remember risk management is pointless, if you cannot recover from a critical incident.
