Who we are

Quality and Safety Risk Professional Services International Proprietary Limited and SAIGAS Proprietary Limited ("we", "our" or "us") are committed to the protection of personal information within the scope of applicable laws. This Privacy Policy sets out how we treat the personal information that we collect, use and disclose.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will be located on our websites, and is also available by contacting our data protection officer by email or at the address detailed below.

By using our websites, or by providing any personal information to us, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

Types of information we may collect from you

The types of information that we collect from you and hold will vary depending on your dealings with us. This information is likely to include any or all of the following:

How we collect information from you

If you are an existing customer, we may contact you by electronic means (email or SMS) with information about goods and services similar to those which were the subject of a previous sale or negotiations of a sale to you. If you are a new customer, we will contact you by electronic means only if you have consented to this.

  • analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our websites; or

How we store and protect your information

We store your information in a combination of computer storage facilities, paper-based files and other records. In so doing, we have taken numerous steps to protect your information from misuse, interference and loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Where we provide your information to third parties, we use contractual measures to protect this information.

Additionally, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your information when we no longer need it.

The internet is not a secure method of transmitting information. Accordingly, other than where we use secure socket layer technology (SSL) to ensure information is securely transmitted and processed, we cannot and do not accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the internet, or for any unauthorised access or use of that information. 4

 

Do we send your information overseas?

The information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside South Africa. It may also be processed by staff operating outside South Africa who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal information, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal information for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your personal information) if we intend to use your personal information for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your personal information. You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting our data protection officer by email or at the address detailed below.

You have the right to ask us to:

  • promptly notify you if we become aware of any unauthorised use, disclosure or processing of your personal information; and 
  • not retain your personal information longer than the period for which it was originally needed, unless we are required by law to do so, or you consent to us retaining such information for a longer period.

If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Access to your information

The South African data protection law give you the right to access information held about you and your rights of access can be exercised in accordance with the law. An access request may be subject to a fee to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. 5
