Authority Update QLD: Priority Notices will replace Settlement Notices from 1st January 2018

A reminder that Settlement Notices are being replaced by Priority Notices from 1 January 2018

Please refer to Titles Registry Alert 140 for more detailed information about the change.

Key notes:

  • Settlement Notices can no longer be deposited in the Titles Registry (even if the Settlement Notice was signed prior to 1 January 2018).
  • Settlement Notices will be accepted up until 4:30pm on Friday 22 December 2017 - the last business day for general Titling services in 2017; and
  • Only Priority Notices (not Settlement Notices) can be deposited from 8:30am on Tuesday 2 January 2018 - the first business day for general Titling services in 2018.
  • It is acceptable for a Priority Notice to have been signed prior to 1 January 2018.

When a Notice is intended to be deposited after 1 January 2018 but is being prepared in the weeks prior to that date, it is the Priority Notice form (and not the Settlement Notice form) that must be used.

The Priority Notice form is available online at Titles Registry Forms for use in these circumstances.

Customers of the eConveyancing and eLodgement services will be able to access these services between 23 December 2017 and 2 January 2018 to prepare instruments and documents intended to be lodged or deposited from 2 January 2018.
