QMI – SAI Global was among the first registrars to achieve accreditation for RCMS®, and is actively conducting registrations for organizations in the United States and internationally.
About the Technical Specification
The Responsible Care Management System® (RCMS) was developed by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The ACC represents the U.S. chemical industry. RCMS embodies the Responsible Care® Guiding Principles and Codes of Management Practice, and transforms them into the traditional Plan-Do-Check-Act management system cycle. Its aim is to prevent accidents, injuries or harm to the environment through a scope that covers pollution prevention, distribution, product stewardship, process safety, employee health and safety, security, community awareness and emergency response, performance reporting and the value chain. Key components of RCMS include: policy and leadership, planning, implementation, performance measurement and management review.
The QMI – SAI Global Approach
QMI – SAI Global can be instrumental in the success of your Responsible Care Management System. Our auditors are trained, capable and motivated to bring value and credibility to your responsible care system, while assessing its conformity to RCMS. Your auditors will have the necessary chemical sector and environmental, health and safety experience to meet QMI – SAI Global's commitment of Advancing Business Excellence.
QMI – SAI Global recognizes that the standard is meant to work for all types of organizations, and the manner in which it is assessed will be appropriate to your business. With this in mind, QMI – SAI Global has pioneered innovative new practices. We have extensive capabilities to conduct audits covering multiple standards and specifications, and we routinely offer integrated environmental, quality and health and safety audits. For larger organizations, we can also audit all of your sites and provide analysis of the performance of your management systems.
A unique feature that QMI – SAI Global offers its customers and auditors is the support from a dedicated environmental product manager. John Fraser, Product and Development Manager, Environment, ensures QMI – SAI Global's on-going technical competency by communicating industry changes to customers and auditors.
