Contract Auditor - Medical Devices

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that the requirements of the standard have been met and provide the appropriate feedback to the customer to address any shortcomings.
  • Plan and arrange management system audits in accordance with internationally recognized quality and/or environment standards and SAI Global procedures and guidelines, including establishing audit schedule a few months in advance in consultation with team members and the customer. Assign each team member elements to audit and ensures the overall timing of the audit, according to established plan.
  • Prepare audit plan using SAI Global audit planning program according to initial registration, annual/bi-annual surveillance or re-registration visits. Review previous audits if undertaking a surveillance upgrade or re-registration audit, ensuring relevant elements are selected. Arranges all travel plans, provides directions and other relevant information to audit team members.
  • Conduct audits, determining compliance of customer management system to applicable standards by interviewing customer staff at all levels, completing checklist, and drawing conclusions on compliance and documenting findings. Liaise with team members to determine validity of their findings in relation to lead auditor findings.
  • Present findings to customers and prepares audit report. Advises customers of SAI Global requirements such as the number of days to address non-conformances.
  • Reviews all team members documentation for accuracy and completeness. Ensure all documents required by the respective standard are in place for presentation to the Registration Review Team.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • College Diploma, University Degree or equivalent
    • Certification as a Lead Auditor, with regular certification renewal
    • In-depth knowledge of auditing Management Systems in the medical device industry sector, demonstrated through a combination of education and experience
    • Minimum of 5 years work experience in relation to Medical devices
    • Preferred Auditor Certifications and/or audit experience to the following standards:
      • ISO 9001
      • ISO 13485
    • CE Mark experience considered an asset
    • Working knowledge of various management system standards and guidelines

Contract Auditor - Energy Management

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that the requirements of the standard have been met and provide the appropriate feedback to the customer to address any shortcomings.
  • Plan and arrange management system audits in accordance with internationally recognized quality and/or environment standards and SAI Global procedures and guidelines, including establishing audit schedule a few months in advance in consultation with team members and the customer. Qualifications:

  • College Diploma, University Degree or equivalent
  • Certification as a lead Auditor, with regular certification renewal
  • Two (2) years professional experience in a relevant discipline (energy management, energy use, etc.)
  • ISO 50001 certified Lead Auditor
  • Working knowledge of various management systems standards and guidelines

Contract Auditor - Aerospace

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that the requirements of the standard have been met and provide the appropriate feedback to the customer to address any shortcomings.

  • Should have strong quality management system (AS9100/AS9110/AS9120 or ISO 9001 preferred)

Contract Auditor - Automotive

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

Contract Auditor - Food Safety

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

Contract Auditor - Forestry

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Five (5) years professional experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. ecology, forestry sociology, economics, anthropology)
  • Five (5) years professional experience in an area of work relevant to forestry evaluation (e.g. forest management, postgraduate research or consultancy)
  • Working knowledge of various management system standards and guidelines
  • Preferred Auditor Registrations include: CSA Z809 and Z804 SFI and COC and SFI Cert Sourcing FSC-FM and COC FSC-CW PEFC

Contract Auditor - Quality/Health & Safety/Environment

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct manual reviews and pre-assessments to ensure that the requirements of the standard have been met and provide the appropriate feedback to the customer to address any shortcomings.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience, including a minimum 2 years exposure in quality management in manufacturing, oil & gas, engineering, and/or service related industries
  • Preferred Auditor Registrations include: ISO 9001 ISO 14001 OHSAS 18001

Full-time Technical Manager – FSSC

Location: Canada or USA

Key responsibilities:

  • Under the Vice President’s leadership direct and manage the accreditation process with all external accreditation bodies and direct the Americas in meeting all accreditation requirements in the assigned scheme.
  • Ensure that applications for new accreditations and scope expansion are coordinated with Operations, and that the appropriate preparation and post assessment activities are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Participate and lead the teams assigned for internal auditing, NCR resolution and responding to customer complaints. These efforts need to involve cross functional resources to provide the best resolution, understanding and deployment of our effort to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership on technical issues and establish appropriate levels of competence for divisional employees in the Americas in their specific sector. Provide information and ensure training is provided to management and staff, as required, in support of accreditation's.
  • Develop, review and approve all technical procedures, processes and guidelines.
  • Develop and document policies establishing the Americas position on various technical matters and communicate these policies across the division as appropriate.
  • Provide technical direction to auditors as required through documented procedures and processes. Responsible for ensuring all full-time and contract auditors are qualified and trained in order to perform audits on behalf of the division.
  • Responsible for defining efficient internal processes that will ensure the Americas meet the requirements of the scheme in the most efficient way. Accountable to effectively and efficiently deliver high Quality services within budget. Identify and implement any corrective actions required to achieve department objectives.
  • Remain knowledgeable, involved and up-to-date with the international standards development industry and Trade Association Program. Represent the Americas on various national and international associations and committees. Strategize, plan and be prepared for upcoming changes to standards and/or the industry as a whole that may affect the division.
  • Work with appropriate departments on developing strategy for implementation of new programs, products and service offerings within specific product sector and support the on boarding process of new and update of existing programs as required.
  • Provide support and technical review of large RFP’s and proposals
  • Develop content for customer training programs. Provide training as needed to the different Sector Specific standards. Work closely with the Division Learning and Improvement Solutions (LIS).
  • Regularly do customer auditing to ensure the processes are fully implemented and deployed and limited to large important customers in the schemes responsible for.
  • When appropriate provide direction and leadership to direct reports. Hire, train and assess performance of direct reports according to corporate policies and procedures and best human resources practices. Assist in the growth of employees through training and career development activities.
  • Direct the Auditor Certification Program for all auditors in the Americas and on a global basis.
  • Provide information and ensure training is provided to management and staff, as required, in support of accreditations.
  • Working with the Quality Manager ensure, the technical review process is completed efficiently and effectively. Ensure the division has the capacity and appropriate staff trained for the review of all registration and re-registration packages, ADV verification and competency analysis. Serve as back up capacity during peak resourcing needs.
  • Assist in the growth of employees through training and career development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years experience in the Agri-Food Industry
  • 3 years experience in operations
  • 5 years experience with auditing and accreditations in GFSI schemes
  • Bilingual English / French would be an asset
  • University degree in food science or related field; Graduate degree would be preferred
  • Certified auditor/trainer in one or other GFSI standards
