Aerospace Auditing, Training & Certification

AS9100, AS9110 and AS9120 are specific international standards for the increasingly competitive Aviation, Space and Defence Industry. These standards were developed to produce a harmonized platform to ensure that all operations in the supply chain are adhering to best practice. They include all the existing elements of ISO 9001 and a variety of aerospace sector-specific requirements.

The Aerospace standards seek to

  • Improve customer satisfaction, quality & on-time delivery
  • Reduce costs & lower customer-unique requirements
  • Promote product/service safety
  • Identify, mitigate and manage risk
  • Prevent the introduction of counterfeit or suspect parts into the AS&D supply chain
  • Reduce costs & lower customer-unique requirements
  • Reduce the variation caused by multiple expectations
  • Reduce and streamline audits conducted along the aerospace supply chain

AS9100's key aspects include safety, airworthiness, product conformity and reliability in the aerospace industry. These quality requirements are crucial to aerospace OEMs, which maintain high levels of liability for their product.

AS9110 focuses on the control of repair schemes and maintenance plans, configuration management, and the skills and qualifications necessary to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks within the aerospace community.

AS9120 was developed for pass-through distributors of aerospace commodity items. This standard addresses chain of custody, traceability, control and availability of records.

ISO 9001 is the quality management system on which AS9100 is based. While most aerospace suppliers choose AS9100 registration as their primary management system certification, the option exists to register your organization solely to ISO 9001.

ISO 14001 is an environmental management system that assists companies in planning, monitoring and continually improving their competitive position and environmental performance. Due to complexity of some aerospace products, hazardous materials are often used in the manufacture or incorporated into the product. Having a robust environmental management system can help ensure the effective control of these materials.

ISO 50001, provides a structured approach to energy management that businesses can adopt to manage their energy use effectively with clear and distinct results on bottom-line savings.

OHSAS 18001 is an international occupational health and safety management system. This standard enables companies to control health and safety risks, while at the same time promoting employee well-being and a safe work environment. Many aerospace OEMs have adopted OHSAS 18001 to help ensure the safety of their employees.

Risk Management Solutions is our answer to providing cost-effective plans which are focused on helping organizations reduce or eliminate at-risk opportunities within their supply chain, helping to ensure the security of an organization’s international shipments, and providing that along the way an organization and their supply chain comply with corporate values, labor laws, and environmental/work safety compliance.
