What is a Food Safety Management System?
Often based on the ISO 22000 Standard, incorporating principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Codex General Principles for Food Hygiene (GMP), a Food Safety Management System should be implemented and audited for organisations involved in food or beverage retail, manufacturing and service industries, to promote food safety compliance and manage related risks such as product recall.
