History of the Awards

The Australian Business Excellence Awards are celebrating twenty years of recognizing excellence in Australian organizations.  However winning is a bonus, the greatest value from entering the Awards is the comprehensive external assessment  identifying your organisations strengths and opportunities for improvement.  Following are a few points of interest for you:

• The Awards have the most rigourous evaluation process in Australia.
• The unique component of the process is the volunteer business professionals who act as Evaluators.
• Research has demonstrated that Business Excellence Award Winning Organisations outperform the Australian All Ords by more than 3 to 1.
• The Awards were originally launched in 1988 as the Australian Quality Awards
• The Business Excellence Framework  (Criteria for the Awards) was revised in 2007
• There are more than 75 countries around the world that have adopted similar Frameworks and Awards
