David Lewis discusses the key findings from his whistleblowing research report published October 2010

SAI Global commissioned Middlesex University to undertake research into how organisations are using one of the key enablers to a transparent business culture where doing the right thing is expected and respected – the establishment and implementation of whistleblowing procedures and reporting hotlines. The report is based on input from one quarter of the UK’s FTSE 250 companies and therefore the results provide a real insight into how private sector firms are addressing the issue of confidential reporting/whistleblowing procedures.
