The Advanced Diploma Occupational Health and Safety (BSB60607) is a nationally recognised qualification essential for individuals involved in Occupational Health and Safety advisory and policy making roles, the management of OHS systems, auditing and consulting.
SAI Global has designed a modular approach for the Advanced Diploma that comprises nationally recognised units of competency (listed below) which have been grouped into courses and are available for public or in-house delivery Australia-wide.
This approach enables participants to attend modules at a time and place that suits their individual needs and addresses immediate workplace skill requirements. The following modules can be undertaken in any order to achieve this qualification:

Participants will need to be employed or have access to an organisation to conduct workplace-based projects.

Module 1 (2 Days)
IMPLEMENTING AN OHS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Examine how to develop an OHS Management System, focusing on the essential processes. Learn appropriate implementation procedures and gain insight into the experiences of a variety of organisations which have implemented an OHS Management System.

Module 2 (5 Days)**
LEAD AUDITOR IN OHS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Receive concentrated and comprehensive training in the theory and practice of OHS auditing. Gain a practical understanding of the responsibilities of an OHS Auditor and the techniques and methodologies required to effectively audit an OHS Management System. In addition learn more about due diligence and relevant legislation and examine current OHS specifications and guidelines from an audit perspective. You should already have a reasonable understanding of OHS Management Systems as a prerequisite and you will need to have access to a workplace OHS Management System in order to complete the post-course assessment.

ADVANCED GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) COMPLIANCE
With the introduction of the Australian Government’s proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS), organisations will need to be able to effectively demonstrate their compliance in this newest area of environmental management systems. Working against theISO 14001 Standard (in particular sections 14064.1, 14064.2 & 14064.3), and with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement this course will help you understand the compliance requirements of quantifying & reporting on GHG emissions, removals, reductions and assertions.

**Please note that it is recommended that you undertake the full 5-day Lead Auditor in OHS Management Systems course unless you are an experienced auditor and/or have previously completed another Lead Auditor course to the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 19011:2003, in which case our 2 day Auditing OHS Management Systems course will meet the requirements of this module.
