arrow Purpose

This course examines how to develop an OHS management system, focussing on the essential implementation actions. Day one of the course covers the initial stages of the implementation process, while day two consolidates this information with a number of real-life implementation case studies.

As well as providing participants with information on the procedures and processes of implementing an OHS, the course offers participants useful insights into the experiences of a variety of organisations, which have implemented an OHS management system.

By the end of this course participants should be able to:

  • Understand the structure, legal requirements and elements of an OHS management system consistent with the AS/NZ 4801.

  • Recognise any barriers to be considered during the implementation of an OHS Management system

  • Know the resources and capabilities that are required to implement and maintain an OHS management system.

  • Conduct formal risk assessments consistent with the standard AS/NZ 4360.

  • Prepare written procedures and documentation necessary for an OHS management system

  • Develop data analysis and reporting processes that contribute to the effectiveness of OHS.
