Get permission to copy or network a Standard

We understand that our publishers' content is both valuable and useful, and that sometimes organizations wish to use it in innovative ways. SAI Global is committed to the sharing of Standards-based knowledge, and provides a number of licensing and permissions services for this purpose.

We can provide this service for the following publishers' documents:

  • AS (Standards Australia)
  • ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation)
  • IEC (International Electrotechnical Committee)
  • ENA (Energy Networks Association)
  • CIA (Concrete Institute of Australia)
  • IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
  • IES (Illuminating Engineering Society)

To this end we offer practical, flexible options, including:

Australian and International Standards are collaboratively developed by teams of experts and the finished product that they create is protected by copyright. This copyright is owned by the relevant Standards body that commissioned the Standard. For instance, copyright for Australian Standards is owned by Standards Australia. SAI Global manages the copyright permissions and licensing on behalf of various Standards bodies. 

Your organization can establish a short-term permission or long-term license to:

  • use and share our full content or extracts thereof
  • both internally and externally
  • in a number of ways
  • over any required time-period
