Under the Intergovernmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational Reform in Occupational Health and Safety (IGA) established in 2008, all jurisdictions in Australia committed to the harmonisation of work health and safety legislation, with variations as necessary to:
- ensure it is consistent with relevant drafting protocols
- to achieve consistency with other laws and processes operating within the jurisdiction.
Since 1st January 2012, most Australian jurisdictions have enacted the new harmonised laws, formally known as Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act and Regulation. Find out how you can prepare with Sherriff's Work Health & Safety Law Guide.
This practical guide will provide you with:
- A plain English explanation of the new Act and Regulations written by one of the architects of the new Act, OHS law expert, Barry Sherriff

- An explanation of how courts may be likely to interpret the new laws
- Regular news alerts and updates.
"Understanding the model Work Health and Safety Act is not only essential to complying with the law - it will enable you to take advantage of the positive changes it will bring."
