Thomas M. Eden III

Mr. Eden, a native of Auburn, Alabama, graduated from Auburn University in 1976 and from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University cum laude in 1980. After graduation, Mr. Eden worked in Atlanta, Georgia with the management labour law firm of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, and subsequently joined the Birmingham firm of Spain and Gillon in 1983 where he continued his management labour and employment law practice. While at Spain and Gillon, Mr. Eden defended a number of insurance companies in substantial fraud and bad-faith litigation.
Mr. Eden joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt, L.L.C. as a member in September 1996. He is now associated with the law firm of Capell & Howard, P.C. located in Auburn/Opelika, Alabama. Mr. Eden's law practice has been principally in the areas of preventive management labour relations and counseling of employers in the resolution of employment disputes; defence of employers in federal court in all aspects of employment litigation including claims under Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, and retaliatory discharge actions; defence of employers in charges brought with the EEOC, Wage and Hour Division, National Labour Relations Board, and the Department of Labour; and litigation over employee benefits under ERISA.
