E. Patrick Ellisen

Mr. Ellisen is a partner in Greenberg Traurig, LLP. His practice focuses on intellectual property and general commercial litigation, as well as intellectual property protection, counseling and enforcement. He has broad experience handling various types of intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement actions in the U.S. District Courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission and has particular expertise in insurance coverage of intellectual property disputes.
Mr. Ellisen also has extensive experience in copyright, trademark and trade secret matters. He regularly advises clients on intellectual property and technology strategies and general business matters, negotiates and litigates intellectual property license agreements.
Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Ellisen was a partner in the Foley & Lardner's Silicon Valley office.
Mr. Ellisen is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also is a member of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the Peninsula Industry and Business Association, and the Churchill Club of Silicon Valley.
Mr. Ellisen received his J.D. in 1989 from Hastings College of the Law. He earned his Bachelor's degree, with honors, in political science in 1986 from the University of California at Berkeley. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1989; and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central Districts; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
