Standards for Disability Services Victoria (SDSV)
The Quality Framework focuses on outcomes for people with a disability built upon robust systems, processes and procedures. The performance measures recognise the integrated nature of the Standards and their focus on universal quality and human rights principles. They apply to all disability service providers and all categories of disability services in Victoria.
Persons or organisations that are registered as “Disability Service Providers” under the Disability Act 2006 in Victoria will soon be required to participate in a cyclical process of independent quality monitoring of their practices and procedures.
This is required as an objective indication that registered service providers have systems in place to ensure that they comply with with the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria Certification Scheme that underpin the Victorian government’s SDSV Quality Framework. The process of Independent quality monitoring under the Scheme Rules will commence from July 2009.
