Safe Animal Feed is a pre-requisite not only for the wellbeing and thrift of animals, but also for the safety of animal derived human food. This principle is underpinned by legislation. To enable their members to demonstrate compliance with legislation, best practice and due diligence, various trade organizations and others have developed codes of practice. SAI Global provides Inspection and Certification against the following universally recognized animal feed codes of practice:
Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS)
Scope: Manufacture of Compound Animal Feeds and Pre-Mixtures, the merchanting of the same and Animal Feed Materials.
Feed Materials Assurance Scheme (FEMAS/ IFIS)
Scope: Manufacture and sourcing of Animal Feed Ingredients.
European Feed Additives and Pre-Mixtures Quality System (FAMI-QS)
Scope: The manufacture and sourcing of Feed Additives and Pre-Mixtures
