MEDIA RELEASE:
Local and international businesses honoured in Second Annual Systems Excellence Awards.
High calibre entrants confirm status of major business awards.
Melbourne 2 December 2010: National and global organisations from a variety of sectors have been honoured at SAI Global’s Systems Excellence Awards. The awards were presented at a ceremony run in conjunction with another of the year’s most prestigious business events, the 2010 Business Excellence Conference & Awards.
According to David Crow, General Manager of SAI Global Australian Assurance, which runs the Awards, the high calibre of this year’s finalists confirms that they are one of the country’s most meaningful business management accolades.
“We were thrilled by the response and high quality of entrants in 2009, the Awards’ first year,” said Mr Crow. “In 2010, last year’s experience has only been built on, with a hugely impressive line-up of some of Australia’s best known business and other organisations named as finalists.”
The Australian Systems Excellence Awards recognise companies which can demonstrate exceptional management systems that exceed the requirements of the national or international standards to which they are certified. Award winning systems are those that measurably boost performance and provide a genuine framework for continuous improvement.
Mr Crow went on to say that a particularly pleasing feature of the Awards was the representation of such a broad range of both business sectors and sizes, from small, local operations through to major multinationals.
“We have all shapes and sizes of service organisations, professional services organisations, software, logistics, manufacturing, telecommunications … it’s the kind of variety that truly demonstrates the relevance and value of certified business management systems across all industries,” he said.
“Judging the Awards also gave us an opportunity to see some of the best of the best of innovative management practice in action,” he said.
“It’s tremendously rewarding to see the precepts and guidelines that SAI Global promotes through our certification and related assurance services articulated in a way that delivers such unarguable benefit to the businesses concerned, and of course, by extension to their customers, clients and the broader economy. I heartily congratulate all concerned and look forward to more great things from the 2011 Awards.”
